This student-built website connects visitors to current Pomfret department resources and preserves a historical collection. It is not an official publication of Pomfret School and does not speak for the School.
Information we collect
This site does not currently run third-party analytics, behavioral advertising, or cross-site tracking. We do not place cookies that identify you personally.
If you use the site-wide motion control, this site stores your preference in your browser's local storage. It records only whether visual effects are paused and is not transmitted. Clearing this site's browser data resets that preference.
Standard web server logs captured by our hosting provider (Vercel) may include anonymized request metadata such as IP address, browser version, and referring URL. These are used solely for uptime and abuse monitoring and are retained for a limited period.
Information about profiled individuals
The “Humans of Pomfret,” “Heads of School,” and “Schwartz Visiting Fellows” pages display biographical information and photographs about real people connected to Pomfret School. All content is drawn from:
- Published Pomfret School archival materials (Pomfret Magazine issues from 2003 and 2005)
- The school's official public history records
- Publicly available biographical information for visiting fellows (who consented to their visit being documented)
For questions about a profile, including correction or removal requests, current school contact details are available in the School Directory.
Photographs
Our photo policy prohibits AI enhancement and changes to a person's skin tone, hair texture, facial features, or apparent age. Source attribution and photo consent require editorial review.
Photographs of current Pomfret School heads of school and other recent figures are sourced from Pomfret School's own publications with attribution. If you are a rights-holder who believes a photo is used incorrectly, please consult the School Directory for current contact details.
AI content
This site does not host AI-generated images or videos of real people. The AI Bias Awareness module discusses AI bias using clearly-labeled illustrative examples (gradient blocks with text labels) rather than generated imagery. No portrait, yearbook page or archive scan on this site has been enhanced, regenerated or altered by AI.
The views of the whole campus on the homepage and the campus tour are rendered from public survey data, Connecticut's 2023 statewide LiDAR and aerial imagery, and are not AI-generated. Some short video plates of the campus landscape and buildings are AI-generated, from a public-domain photograph or from a render of that survey. Each plate carries an on-screen label and credit, shows no people, and is listed with what the model invented in the Film Register.
Children's privacy
This site presents educational resources and school history. We do not solicit personal information from users of any age. We do not have accounts, comments, or uploads.
